A Robik application: a compact, remote-controlled electric mover designed to improve safety, visibility and control in industrial material handling.

Moving heavy loads in confined spaces can be a major challenge in manufacturing plants, warehouses and industrial environments. When manoeuvring space is limited, conventional handling equipment can become difficult to use and may require multiple manoeuvres.

A remote-controlled electric mover can provide a more compact solution for moving and towing heavy loads, while allowing the operator to choose the best position for greater visibility and control throughout the operation.

This was exactly the challenge behind a recent Robik application.

The challenge: moving heavy loads in confined spaces

The customer needed to move and tow materials within an area characterised by narrow passages and limited manoeuvring space.

Previously, these operations had been carried out using a forklift. In this specific application, however, this solution presented two main challenges.

Firstly, the dimensions of the forklift made manoeuvring more difficult within the available space. Secondly, the forklift being used had not been specifically designed or certified for that particular towing operation.

The customer therefore needed a solution better suited to the application, combining pulling force, compact dimensions and greater control during material handling operations.

The solution: a Robik electric mover

To meet these requirements, the customer introduced Robik, a compact electric mover designed for towing and moving heavy loads in industrial environments.

Its compact dimensions allow Robik to operate in areas where forklifts or other conventional handling equipment may be too bulky, reducing the space required for manoeuvring.

In this application, however, one of the most important advantages is the radio remote control.

Why does radio remote control improve visibility and control?

With conventional handling equipment, the operator is generally restricted to a fixed driving position. With Robik, remote control allows the operator to choose the most suitable position during each stage of the manoeuvre.

This provides a better view of the load, its path and the surrounding area, making it easier to identify obstacles, people or potential interference along the route.

The operator can therefore follow the movement from the position offering the best visibility, without having to remain on the machine or immediately in front of or behind the load.

This is particularly valuable when operating in confined spaces, narrow industrial aisles or complex production environments.

Heavy-load handling is not just about pulling force

When selecting a system for moving a heavy load, focusing exclusively on the available pulling force can be a mistake.

The entire application needs to be evaluated, including load weight, rolling resistance, floor conditions, gradients, available space, turning radius, visibility and operating conditions.

In this case, introducing Robik provided a solution specifically suited to the required handling operation, reducing overall dimensions while giving the operator greater control during manoeuvres.

Robik: industrial material handling where space is limited

Every industrial material handling application has different requirements. This is why selecting the right mover should begin with an analysis of the actual operating conditions, rather than considering load weight alone.

Robik remote-controlled electric movers are designed for moving and towing heavy loads, including applications where space is limited and operating conditions are complex.

Safety, visibility, control and compact dimensions therefore become an integral part of heavy-load handling, together with the pulling force required to move the load.
